The ceiling is the part of a Nairobi room people notice without realising — a flat slab reads unfinished, while a framed tray with cove lighting makes the whole room feel deliberate. We design and install gypsum and PVC ceilings, run the lighting plan (downlights, coves, pendants and dimmers) and handle the electrical work behind it with our licensed electrician. For moisture-prone kitchens and bathrooms we recommend PVC panels; for living rooms and bedrooms, framed gypsum gives the cleaner look.

Ceilings and lighting questions
How much height does a gypsum ceiling take?
A flat ceiling needs about 100 mm; a stepped ceiling with coves needs 150 to 250 mm. In apartments with 2.6 m slabs we keep the drop to the perimeter so the centre stays high.
Laminate or SPC: which is better for Nairobi?
SPC (stone plastic composite) is waterproof and suits kitchens, ground floors and homes with pets. Laminate is warmer underfoot and cheaper, and works well in bedrooms and upstairs lounges.
Can you install flooring over existing tiles?
Yes. Laminate and SPC float over sound, level tiles with an underlay, which saves the cost and mess of removal. Doors may need trimming.
Do you do the electrical work yourselves?
We work with a licensed electrician who is part of every ceiling and lighting job. New circuits are tested and labelled at the distribution board.
